Come together to hear from the Franklin Institute's Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts and astronaut Leland Melvin, then start forming teams and brainstorming for the Space Apps Challenge! Drinks & snacks will be provided. Reserve your kickoff tix on this page, and we'll send you a $10 discount code to the Philly Tech Week Signature Event. To register to participate in the hackathon, click here. If you didn't get a t-shirt in the pre-sale, we'll have a limited number for sale at the kickoff.

Presented by NASA, the International Space Apps Challenge is a two-day hackathon (April 20-21, 2013) where citizens from around the world work together to solve current challenges relevant to both space exploration and social needs. In Philly, select judges will award prizes at the end of the event -- including Derrick Pitts, NASA Solar System Ambassador and Chief Astronomer and Planetarium Director for the Franklin Institute!
